To raise awareness among children from a very young age about food waste in a fun and interactive way, a comprehensive educational kit (in french) is being made available to Maisons Relais. The materials in the kit are designed to support educators in organising educational activities focused on sustainable eating and reducing food waste.

Structured support for educators
The guide for educators is the core document of the kit. It outlines the overall structure of the project, the educational objectives, and the various steps to follow when organising and leading group challenges with the children. It is supplemented by detailed resources, such as explanatory notes, to facilitate the preparation and leading of the activities.
In addition, the kit includes various visual and interactive resources to support the challenges:
- images of the four seasons as well as of fruit and vegetables;
- an answer sheet, to facilitate the leading and checking of the activities.
Involving the children
To introduce children to the project, an introductory presentation is provided. This allows topics related to food and waste to be addressed in a simple and accessible way. Supplementary notes help educators to enrich this introduction and encourage interaction with the children.
Children also have a personal workbook in which they can track the challenges, record their observations, draw or note down their experiences.
Involving the parents
The kit also includes several documents designed to involve families:
- An invitation for parents, to present the project and invite them to a launch event.
- A presentation for parents, explaining the project’s objectives and how it will unfold.
- A guide for parents, detailing how to carry out the individual challenges at home with the children.
Promotion and visibility of the project
To support communication about the project, the kit provides:
- posters to be displayed in the Maison Relais to raise awareness and provide information;
- a certificate of participation, to recognise the children’s commitment at the end of the project.
