With the ‘Gielt Band’ campaign, the Ministry of Agriculture is calling on citizens, municipalities, associations and businesses to take sustainable action against food waste. Do you own fruit trees or even an orchard and don’t use the fruit yourself? Then sign up for the campaign using this form and order yellow ribbons.

To enable owners of remote orchards and fruit trees to take part in the ‘Gielt Band’ campaign, the Ministry of Agriculture is providing wooden signs with the inscription ‘Hei dierft Dir plécken!’ (You are allowed to pick here!). You can order one of these signs by emailing antigaspi@ma.etat.lu. If you want to put the sign up on a public road, you must first submit an application to the road construction authority.

If a yellow ribbon is attached to a tree, it means that anyone can pick fruit from it free of charge for their own use and collect the fruit lying under the tree. The Ministry of Agriculture hopes that this campaign will lead to further initiatives in which people work together to process the fruit they have picked.
